Does anyone have Manurhin MR73 Match .38 or S&W PC627-8?

Hello,
After reading 32 vs. 38 topic I decided to purchase a revolver for the CF comp. I think everyone knows about Manurhin, here is the link to S&W

Does any of you guys have any experience with either revolver?
I have read David's response in the aforementioned topic, but it was more .38 related than Manurhin specifically. David, I would be glad to hear your opinion on your Manurhin here when you have time.

The Manurhin is the best top competition Revolver around off the shelf (value for money). The Korth is very similar in performance but is a lot more expensive (it is also a 357 mag).
A Smith K frame can be built up to a top competition revolver. Use a old model 14 frame, fit a good quality barrel, set of Millet sights,check- align and tighten the lockwork, maybe even fit the old Masterpiece single action broard hammer and trigger.
Both the Manurhin or Smith will need a good grip for ISSF, either a Morini or Nill.
Most late model Smiths do not make good ISSF compitition revolvers as they are 357s with heavy underlugs.
Also don't forget the .32 revolvers, because you can load them to solve the 32 load problems ( using a roll crimp).
DO NOT use a Smith in .32 Mag they do not perform very well at all. I have looked for over 20yrs to find a good S&W K 32 Masterpiece, I have only ever seen one (it was not for sale).

I agree with David. I don't have his experience concerning revolvers, but I own a Manurhin MR73 .38, and it's probably the most precise gun in my "collection". I cant' imagine a S&W beating that, the Ransom Rest Groups are about 15mm at 25m. Excellent trigger, perfect balance, the usual grip troubles for a revolver :-) and my one has a Morini rearsight. I wouldn't know how to improve on this.

About the Manurhin I'll defer to David & Tycho about the Manurhin MR73 Match .38 is the better gun out-of-the-box, Costs around $1499.

The S&W revolver you identify is an "N" frame. It is a large frame revolver & KN target grips w/ adjustable palm shelf aren't available for it. In my opinion, I'd go with the following.

Then have send it to S&W Custom Gunsmithing and do the following: Master Revolver Action Job $125, express option $148, Then Have them do a Performance Enhancement Package $125, express service $148.

Additionaly you might see if the folks there will replace the stock Hammer & Trigger Assemblies w/

S&W used to rebarrel revolvers for PPC, but I don't know if they'd do that or not, If they do I'd go for a Model 67 have them rebarrel it and turn the barrel down to 1" max, explaining that you would like to have the weight around 38-40 oz., then substitute the hammer & trigger different parts numbers, but you can find them in the parts list. Oh ya, you might see if they can number the cylinder chambers, its a small thing but....

For grips I'd recommend: KN Anatomical match grip with adjustable palm rest for sporting revolvers
