Stevyr evo10e click noise when cocked and loaded

Post by philipelhage »

Hello to all. There is a steyr evo10e at the range.
Almost brand new. The pistol was not used but sat for
A few months. The owner is now using the pistol
The pistol works fine but after every 40 to 50 shots
When the gun is cocked and loaded and ready to shot
It just clicks but doesn’t really shoot. It sounds similiar to
A dry fire, but not loud. If you just keep pulling the trigger the gun will eventually shoot, without needing to recock the pistol.

I bought one yesterday, and was instructed to charge it every 6 months. Has the pistol been recharged recently?

Not exactly the same as the OP's question but perhaps of interest neverthe less.

If you don't need to re-cock it, then the solenoid wasn't able to release the striker on the first try.
Seams that you have a weak battery or some capacitor on the electronic board that may be failing after a few shots.
I would try:
1- charge the battery
2- If 1 didn't help, borrow a mate's board/battery and see if the problem persists.

Hope this helps

I tried both options, but still have the same issue.
Only about once ever 30 - 40 shots.

The only thing left is the solenoid... (the large cylinder that strikes the sear holding the striker).

Hope this helps
