Pardini dry fire plugs

Post by JFuller »

I seem to have "misplaced" the black plug shortly after getting a new .22 SP, are they an improvement over using plastic drywall anchors in the SP ?

I get a different feel using the big clunky plug instead or a snap cap or RFO plug.

The advantage of the factory plugs is that (with care), you can re-cock the pistol without having to chase anything. Point the muzzle down, and the plug should stay in the chamber.

The feel of the hammer fall is different, because it isn't striking the firing pin. The trigger feel should be identical to live fire.

Plus the original model can be used as screw drivers to adjust windage and height.

I took the CMP empty chamber indicator and whittled it down so that the tail was the same diameter up to the 90 deg bend and use that as a dry fire plug. Once inserted, it stays there no matter how many times you cycle the bolt. I have made a dozen or so, gave a few away, and yet to wear one out.

Price is cheap, lasts a long time.
