Walter SSP discontinued?

Post by PaulK51 »

My LGS said they contacted Walther about ordering a SSP and we’re told that Walter has discontinued the production of that model. Can anybody confirm if this is true and if true, why?

SSP and GSP expert are no longer in the Walther site. Only GSP500.
Usually when Walther removes something from their site it means its out of production.
As to why? Probably it was to costly to maintain 2 pistols for the same disciplines.
SSP never took any meaningful market share and GSP is an old design.

The gsp is discontinued because it is not up to standard anymore and the ssp was never a great success and his disadvantage was that it only came in .22 calibre

SSP are cool no doubt but GSP is better for Bullseye.

The new GSP500 is super cool and potentially excellent.

What Walther did was hybrid the GSP and the Hammerli SP20.

I do not believe GS500 are available in the US as yet.
