Funny drills for air-pistol

Post by Sergei1950 »

I am sure there are many experienced shooter that know a lot about target air-pistol. Can you please share your favorit drills to improve your shooting skills ? For example, I have introduced dry-shooting ceiling while laying on my back balancing the Bible on the muzzle, When I pull the trigger incorrectly, the Bible punishes me for my shooting sins ))

Try this

Dry fire at a suitable target 10m away
Do this a LOT
80% of your practice should be DRY FIRE 20% with pellets at same target
Den

So..

I tell myself I'm NOT going to shoot anything less than an 8 EVERY time...! Now I tell myself that but clearly I have big issues listening to my own advice.

Ja, das ist ein berühmtes Zitat aus der TV-Show Saturday Night Live Gerichtssaal Sketch, der die Dummheit von Richter und Angeklagtem zeigt.

That is a famous quote from a sketch on the TV show Saturday Night Live, showing the stupidity of both the judge and the defendant.

Verzeihen Sie meinem Deutsch.

Sorry, I am not following this famous TV show. Your German is not too bad )) But you obviously have problems with Grammar , especially with Cases. German is not my native Language, but I am pretty fluent in it. Passed some exams in Goethe Institute.

I took German in high school. Did it badly, but have been to Germany a few times.

I fumble around in Spanish and Portuguese, too, having been to both countries a couple of times. A skosh (sukoshi) amount of Japanese from the Marines, too.

Believe it or not, my English is excellent (college major).

I worked successfully for Community of Christ (Church) for about 18 years. But I don't have even Minor in English ))
Of course, I knew some Japanese as Karate Instructor (Shotokan 4 Dan). Learned Greek (as ordained Priest) plus Slowenian, Czech and Italian. Italian was extremely easy for me. Last three years focused on German starting from zero point. We have Goethe Institute in my city Novosibirsk and I can pass official exams getting nice Zertifikat )) Actually I prefer to learn languages by my self. I am visiting Germany since 1988 on regular basis, but we spoke English mainly here. You don't need actually to visit the country to learn the language )) Now I am participating in zoom meetings with german and austrian guys. What are you doing for living?

OK, sometimes I aim my airpistol at the target and close my eyes just for short meditation. Then I shoot still keeping eyes closed. Normally I shoot 6 meter distance in the living room. I can't understand why my wife find this deep spiritual drill NOT funny ...

I find self flagellation effective at discouraging anything less than a 9:

Happy day today )) Just purchased brand new MP46M (IZH46 new version). Negotiated 10% discount. Finally costed me about US$ 440. The main reason to buy - fall in love with it's grips ))

My last favorit drill : standing on unstable surface and holding 1377 for 10-15 seconds with ribbon attached to the muzzle. It give additional 2-4 lb of tension. Standing on the other side of the ribbon and keeping it tensed. Alternating left to right hand. Short period of rest in between standing relax on shaking surface with closed eyes.

Find your approximate stance. (assuming right handed)
Raise gun.
Turn head to the right.
Raise left leg.
Cough.
