26 feb just spoke with Champion's Choice in TN...
they are NOT taking any more back orders for ammo.
not a good sign for ammo availability.
going to be a tough summer :-(

When a certain kind of person hears of a push for 50% tax on ammo, and a background check to make that purchase, that kind of person buys more than normal prior to the rush. I think that is why the on the shelf supply is down.

At the current rate that I'm shooting in prone matches I'll run out about five years after I'm dead.

jhmartin: 245 pound sterling for 1000 rounds (that's one thousand) of Lapua Midas plus. that's about $345 US for 1000 rounds.... about 33 cents a round... which doesn't include tax or shipping. small wonder why smallbore and other 22 shooting sports are withering on the vine. damn shame.

???

I haven't bought any ammo for a while due to the current lock down, but what's remarkable about collecting ammo? My Eley dealer delivers.

Do remember we are a small island, so nowhere is that far away: unless you're in the Highlands or NI.

The price does include tax. In Britain prices are normally quoted inclusive of VAT. VAT (Value Added Tax) is set nationally, rather than at state/local level.

And yes prices for many things are higher. But we can drink at 18, and pints are full size.

Tim,
Funny you should mention full-sized pints and the price of ammo in the same post because if I had to pay those prices I would probably drink many F.S.P.s when ordering. I will figure out a way to come across the pond and shoot a match with you soon. Gotta get busy on renewing the passport. Will definitely check on legal way to bring my match ammo with me though.

Am I doing my math wrong? I paid $16.00 a box including tax for Midas in early 2020. I think a lot of us over here would gladly pay $16.80... if we could find any.
