Where to Get a Front Sight for a Morini 162MI?

Post by Church Key »

I recently got a new Morini 162MI and don't like the 5mm front sight. Want to get a 4mm which is the size on my FWB 65. Have not been able to find any OEM replacement sights for sale, though Morini mentions them in their sales literature. I've emailed an inquiry to Morini, Pyramyd Air, and a FL Morini distributor. No response from anyone yet.

Wondering if anyone here can provide me with a lead?

Have you tried Jocelyn in Canada? She has gotten me Morini Parts. They have a presence on eBay also.

For some reason, I don't believe that filing on an $1,800 gun's front sight is a good idea when an OEM replacement is available. Just need to find one.

Bob - I'll contact Jocelyn; thanks.

Hmm, 30 seconds work VS at least a week plus maybe $20 cash. Tough choice.

Call Jennifer at Pilkinton. Whatever they charge is cheap. Sights are one area that I don't file. Everytime you look at it you think it isn't square, even if it actually is.

Yeah, I had the same problem until I got my astigmatism taken care of.

Took me 20 minutes to make mine out of a 8x8mm bar.
Drill and file.
I would do it again if l needed to.

You can also contact Andrew Berryhill. He can print one for you if you wish.

If Pilk can't do it, there's always Nikkonos in Canada (customs never been a hassle).

That's a great idea. I filed a sight down and overdid it a bit, and have been futzing around trying to undo my error.

Contacted Jocelyn and she will order one for me. Located one in the US, but the price was 50% higher than hers. Decided I can wait. Thanks for all the suggestions; appreciate them.

As an experiment I asked Andrew to print several front sights with different heights for my Morini 162 EI. The cost was reasonable and the turn around time was good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
