Sear is not setting!

Post by David M »

Sounds like the sear is not setting when you fully cock the lever open.
To check, half open the cocking lever until you feel the lever pick up the firing hammer (heavier spring feel),continue to pull lever back and the hammer should set on the sear. You should feel the lever easier to close ( no spring feel). If you can feel the spring wanting to push the lever forward to the half open position, then the bolt is pushing the lever forward and the sear is not setting.
If this is the case the pistol will need to be looked at by someone who knows what they are doing with a Morini.
The problem is not in either the grip nor electronics, but in the sear and hammer.

I've swapped out the grip/electronics, so I agree that it's in the gun. I'll test it out.
Many thanks, David.
