Ap- Test

Post by PAS »

In the No 6 issue og the german magazine Visier, there is a ap-test comparing 10 different guns. The magazine is not for sale in Norway. Has anybody read the test?

I have read about the test some time ago, it includes all the front line target AP use currently, e.g. Morini 162EI, Steyer LP10, LP1, Walther Lp200, FWB P-30 P34, etc.
However, it is not so informative as it uses a ranking system in which 100 pts is the highest, and points are allocated to a number of criteria, e.g. precision 10 points, finish 5 pts. (not so important aspect). Needless to say, all these pistols have full 10 pts for accuracy but some minor, IMHO, affect the total socre of a pistol, e.g. Morini has a rather low score on ease of function because its loading lever mounts on the left hand side of the frame so that left hand shooters may find it a bit inconvenient and the adjustments of the sights must be carried out with the aid of a screw driver, etc.
Not surprisingly, all the APs ranges from 93 - 97 pts. which is not conclusive at all.

Like everyone is going to tell you there is no best "air pistol". The best air pistol is the one that feels the best to you and that you enjoy shooting so that you will go out there and practice lots. A review of air pistol is just someones opinion and like a------- everyone has one. The review that you describe is probably pretty conclusive what it say from what you relayed is that at that level they are pretty equal and you really can't buy scores.
