New manufactured slides for Hammerli 208

Previous post mentioned someone at Camp Perry was manufacturing new slides for the Hammerli 208 series pistols. Does anyone have any info on this?

Says "parkerized finish" Really? I think matt black oxide perhaps.
Anyway, why? Are people breaking slides (using high velocity ammo?)

Never used any HV ammo in the gun, strictly CCI SV or SK Standard Plus. Changed the recoil spring every 4000 rounds, but after 35,000 plus rounds one arm of the slide cracked. Tried welding it but that was never really satisfactory.
