Steyr LP10 E in green

Was just watching footage of the 2016 Rio games 10m air pistol.

I noticed that D Pang Wei was using a Steyr LP10e that was green in colour.
Is this a special colour scheme? Or has it had its colour done aftermarket?

I know colour doesnt mean anything to accuracy but I do like to personalize my firearms, so would be very interested in knowing how to get other colours.

Just guessing...
1. Get good enough for Olympics
2. Do a deal with Steyr.

Those colors (red and green) were available on the old LP1.

First up, welcome to the forum!

Anodising is a chemical process to protect the parts from corrosion. I note you're in Perth so there are a few options there it looks like.

As you mention there is no option for green from the factory, although they have done the odd special. Doing a one off would likely not be worth their time (except in the case of marketing).
You could ask though, worst they can say is no.

Which leaves the option of rolling your own:
Getting the part could prove tricky, it would really be best to start with a part that was bare metal. Sending them a letter in the post would probably be your best bet.
Another option is paint, sticker, or a skin. With steel you have other options such as electroplating; ie. MV, hard chrome, etc.

as far as I know with some producers you can get any colour you want.
If i recall correctly both Matchguns and Morini Competition Arm offer the possibility of a personalized colour. I don't know, however, if there is a surcharge for that.

I was thinking of doing mine in barber pole stripes.

God knows what must be going through Perkins' (Farkle King) mind at this moment.

I'd imagine there would be, since they probably use an electrostatic paint application process on the metal parts. That stuff ain't cheap! I could be wrong though.

I think they told me it is simply anodization, as SamEEE says

It is anodising. Last year I tried to order a new Matchguns MG2 rapid fire in a colour other than blue. The very polite response was that I could order any colour as long as it was blue.
