Colt Python short action speed lock

I have a friend that has a Colt Python 38 Spl. It is a single action only and speed lock. We have been trying to find out if Colt made these or if a smith may have done this later. He asked Colt for information( sent them $50) and got nothing back about the custom features.

Does anyone out there have any info they might help us with?

Thanks, Bill

I know what you posted but you need to contact the proper department at colt and ask for a "Colt archive historical letter".
The price will be around $75. or above.

S&W has the same thing.

This is the only way I know to put it to rest.

You might give Bill Laughridge a call at Cylinder & Slide.. He was quite a Colt guru at one time and offered many modifications.

The coltpython.blogspot website is a lot of fun. While it is not active the proprietor liked to take apart Colt revolvers and explain what he saw.
