What are your experiences with 38 super 1911's in bullseye?

I already have a S&W 41 and Les Baer .45 for bullseye but still enjoy collecting guns. I'm thinking of adding another 1911 to my collection sometime next year and have been reading about the 38 super a bit. I wouldn't necessarily shoot it for all bullseye matches but I'd like to be able to. Can it be loaded mild enough to make it a worthwhile addition between .22 and .45? I wish there were more .38 special options out there, I'd love to see .38 SPL 1911's in the mainstream market. I really don't want to go with a S&W 52 as I sometimes fight my 41 although I love it. I'm also looking at 9mm as an option. Not really looking to get into a $3k custom gun, would like to get in under $1k if possible, currently looking at the Colt Government models and the Sig Traditional Match Elite.

If shooting a Colt .38 Super, you'll want an aftermarket barrel for better support at the rear of the case.

I'm having a brain fart right now, so a barrel maker escapes me. (Bar-Sto?)
