Kart .22 problem

A friend of mine has a Kart .22 conversion on a Colt Gold Cup frame. It is putting small nicks in the rails of the Gold cup about 1/2" from the end of the rail. Anybody seen this or having any ideas what is causing it?

I have no idea what could be causing it.
The Kart Slide does not move in the rails.
Does your friend switch between 22 and 45?
I thing a careful inspection of all parts is needed.
Maybe post a few photos of the problem, might help.
Maybe a call to Marvel Precision, Larry's Guns or Nelson Guns would get an answer.

He does switch from .22 to .45
I will see if I can get some pictures to post
