I am looking for some basic training targets and came across these:

Has anyone tried them? Anything better out there for a reasonable price?

I also thought about getting some of these and try to build something to hold them.

Here is a biathlon specific target you might want to consider:

A friend in our local club has one on his property. tried it once and it was pretty fun.

I'm new here; I tried practicing using some reduced targets, at an indoor 75' range:
- NRA 50-foot smallbore target TQ-1/5 (36.5mm shaded area) at 15.85 meters (52'), to simulate 115mm@50m
- NRA 25-ft air rifle target TQ-5/5 (19mm shaded area) at 21 meters (69'), to simulate 45mm@50m

I can barely see that 19mm bull at 21 meters! Looking at the Devin target http://devinmfg.com/pt.html , it almost looks as though the shaded area on the prone target is the same size as offhand (11.5cm), but that there is a smaller 4.5cm ten-ring for scoring hits?

Yes, this is correct.
