1911 for indoor

Post by canthit »

Hi,
Thinking on having a 9mm bullseye pistol built on a 1911 frame, I have heard of this caliber being used indoors at 50 ft. any comments and loads using cast bullets around 115, 124 or 125 grain would be appreciated.

THANKS

I shoot a 1911 9mm indoors at 25 yards and get x-ring groups with 125gr RNL's from Missouri Bullet over 3.3gr of Bullseye. At 50 yards outdoors I use a 115gr JHP from Zero over 4.4gr of 231.

I've tried 125's LRN over 3.8 grains of WST and it will not function my 9mm 1911 with a Bomar rib. I stopped trying to find lead loads for now. I use 125 LRN,3.2gr. of WST in my NM Beretta and it cycles fine. Shoots very lightly almost like a .22, good 25 yard practice rounds for me.
I use a 115 JRN over 4.8gr of VV330 in my Beretta at 50yd and this load also will not reliably function my 1911. Just some info for you.

hope it helps,
Robert

Just want to add that the 1911 mentioned above has a slide mounted ultradot and a 9# recoil spring and functions just fine with the listed loads.
