FORT BENNING, Ga. - The final 2008 U.S. Olympic Shooting Team Trials will be conducted by USA Shooting May 12 to 22 at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's Pool International Shooting Complex and Phillips Range.

Top pistol and smallbore rifle shooters from around the United States will be vying for the final nine spots on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Shooting Team.

In smallbore rifle, there is one Olympic team spot available for Men's Prone and Men's Three Position (Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Emmons has already secured a spot in both Prone and Three Position) and there are two spots available in Women's Three-Position.

In pistol, there are two Olympic team spots available for Men's Free Pistol and one spot in Men's Rapid Fire Pistol. There are two spots for Women's Sport Pistol.

Besides Emmons, shooters who have made the 2008 U.S. Olympic Shooting Team so far are: USAMU's Sgt. 1st Class Jason A. Parker and U.S. Military Academy Cadet Stephen Scherer in Men's Air Rifle; Emily Caruso in Women's Air Rifle; Jason Turner in Men's Air Pistol; Rebecca Synder in Women's Air Pistol; retired Sgt. 1st Class Bret E. Erickson and Air Force Reserve Maj. Dominic Grazioli in Men's Trap; Corey Cogdell in Women's Trap; USAMU's Pfc. Walton Glenn Eller III and Spc. Jeffrey G.
Holguin in Men's Double Trap; Pfc. Vincent C. Hancock of USAMU and Sean McLelland in Men's Skeet; and Kim Rhode in Women's Skeet.

The competition schedule is as follows:

May 12: Free Pistol, Sport Pistol and Prone Rifle Official Training.

May 13: Free Pistol, Sport Pistol and Prone Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 14: Free Pistol, Sport Pistol and Prone Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 15: Free Pistol, Sport Pistol and Prone Rifle Matches, Finals and Awards.

May 16: Rapid Fire Pistol and Men's Three-Position Rifle Official Training.

May 17: Rapid Fire Pistol and Men's Three-Position Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 18: Rapid Fire Pistol and Men's Three-Position Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 19: Rapid Fire Pistol and Men's Three-Position Rifle Matches, Finals and Awards; and Women's Three-Position Rifle Official Training.

May 20: Women's Three-Position Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 21: Women's Three-Position Rifle Matches and Finals.

May 22: Women's Three-Position Rifle Matches, Finals and Awards.
