Cleaning glass filters?

Post by WarWagon »

I've got an AHG adjustable rear iris with the 5 color filters. There is a definitive haze on all of the filters, and it's pretty considerable, as you can see clear as day when rotating the filters off center.

What is the best way to go about cleaning these?

Lens pen.

Eyeglasses cleaning cloth.

Do not use any paper product on optics. Even the softest paper has silica particles and will scratch optical surfaces. If really dirty and removable, a wash with some soap and then dry with the cleaning cloth.

Best,

Part of the issue is that I'm unsure as to how to disassemble it without creating any damage, if that's at all possible.

Anyone else have any input on cleaning or disassembly?

WarWagon - I have a Centra rear iris with all the doodads. I could make a copy of the dissassembly instructions and e-mail that to you. I would need a real name, just in case WarWagon is a nom de plume, and an e-mail address. It will likely be the same or very similar technique.

Dennis: Can you please send me a PM? I'd rather send the contact info in private to keep spammers from hitting my inbox. Thanks
