Smallbore Rifle Weights

Post by dlinden »

7.4.3.3 Exterior Weights
7.4.3.3.1 Only barrel weights within a radius of 30 mm from the center of the barrel are permitted. Barrel weights may be moved along the barrel.
7.4.3.3.2 Any other weights must be within the dimensions of the stock.

I need help converting these rules to real life. Does this mean that the rail mounted weights (rod with sliding weights) are legal for Smallbore rifle competition?

Dennis,
I checked the ISSF rules and regulations. I.M.O the rules you mentioned apply only to 300m Standard Rifle and air rifle. When shooting smallbore you can use the rod-with-weights or any other weights attached tot the rifle stock or barrel as long as you do not exeed the max. dimensions (length) and mass (8.0kg) of the rifle.
