Trigger pull (888 and 887)

Post by Guest »

Just received literature from daisy. It has the 888 listed as having adjustable trigger for both pull and length of pull. No trigger adjustments options listed for the 887. Is this just an oversight in the literature.

I have read that the Avanti triggers are very sloppy?

888 and 887 use the exact same action ... only the stock is different.

The trigger is somewhat adjustable and you can safely get it down to 1.5 lbs ... but it is easy to go too far. I like to have mine set at about 1.75 to 2 lbs for the kids.
As you adjust the weight you also end up adjusting the pull .... not separate.
Note that it is not legal to install anything that limits trigger overtravel (rule 4.2.5)

Get a copy of the Tom Johnson's Sporter tips from the CMP and by looking at what you do for the 853/753 rifles you can gain great insight into what to look for on a trigger job.
Everything in that document is legal to perform internally on any of the Daisy sporter air rifles
