I like your delegate the tasks approach. My last range session I was saying a mantra type thing to that third party somewhere up there. It was "align it", repeatedly directed to the mind. I tried to remove a conscious connection to the gun, and let the connection to the gun come out of the mind. The aligning was foremost in my conscious as a desire, and not directly as a physical task.
