Cooling of compressed air cylinders

Hi,

I am a new AP shooter and have a query about filling cylinders. I have heard that putting cylinders in the freezer prior to filling helps it fill better. Is this true or a myth?

Appreciate any response.

If you are talking about compressed air then don't bother. You only need to cool the cylinders down if you want to achieve a full fill in a CO2 gun.

Compressed air cylinders do not need cooling prior to filling. The small volume of air that they take will give a small temperature rise to the tank when filled. But if you wait approx. 30 to 60 sec with the tank on the cylinder the temperature will soon stabilize.
The tanks that benefit from cooling are the CO2 tanks.
