Answered my own question (lazy sod . . . )
O.K. had another minute here and thought I would be more helpful. I know we have some Canadian members/match organizers on this forum who will have more details but this is what I found out:
Go to

then link to News- Special Notice for Non-Canadian Competitors for instructions on paperwork for CAGP procedure; summarized as
1 - Download the application for a temporary license from the CFC website www.cfc.gc.ca (click 'visitor to Canada' and download form CAFC 909)
2 - fill out the form as accurately as possible
3 - fax or email a copy of the form to the attention of Staff Sgt. Roy Scobie (fax: 705-329-5623, email: roy.scobie@jus.gov.on.ca indicating your border point of entry, exit and the dates you will be entering and leaving Canada - also forward a fax number if available
4 - the CFO will then process the ATT and send it to you by fax or mail - note that it will only be valid when accompanied by the visitors firearms licence you obtain at the border entry point
4 - Take the completed forms (and ATT) with you and present them at Canada Customs at the border crossing for their processing
5 - Canada Customs will assign a license number to the application which will also validate your ATT and you will be on your way.
Not sure how long it will be taking this year to process the ATT but if I understand correctly the ATT must be issued prior to your arrival- you have to already have that in hand when you submit for the license at customs.
It's a great match- huge attendance- well managed- Feb 2-4 so start making plans ASAP!
