Hämmerli 480 K2

Post by Paul »

Greetings,

I'm looking for opinions on the Hämmerli 480 K2 ? I'm considering buying one for informal target shooting. Anybody out there with experience with this pistol (good or bad) could really help.

Thanks in advance !

I don't own one but I have handled and shot one several times. Very good build quality, nice trigger, a clever and (I think) effective muzzle break, and well supported by Larry Carter. The grip, like all others, is subjective - I prefer it to Morini. It's certainly good enough for informal shooting and more. One warning: when screwing the cylinder on / off don't change your mind mid-way, or you'll tear an O-ring. Easy and cheap to replace, but who wants to?

Until it is much clearer how much support will be available from Umarex/Walther for old Hammerli guns I would be very wary about buying one.

I understand that the Hammerli agent in the US is extremely good, but even he will have a limited amount of spares.
