They look nice, but I don't get the attraction. Is there any discipline where they're actually still competitive?

Still very competitive for ISSF Centrefire and WA 1500, also
in Australia for Service pistol.
The big plus is that the case catcher works very well on a revolver........

As far i know, Polish record in centerfire pistol 25m (OPEN) has been set and equalled with MR32.

Manurhin is better than Korth in my opinion, especially for ISSF. And way cheaper!
I owned both and sold the Manurhin, and I am French, the quality is no where what it used to be, Chapuis is in the hunting rifle business and got into the revolver business for an unknown reason, QUALITY IS NOT ONE OF THEM............
As far as price, the Korth sells in the US now at a price tag of $3500! where do you get your numbers from??

Hello Kermit. If you have not seen the new 2017 Manurhins then I would consider your opinion as irrelevant and misleading.

I have also owned the earlier original MATRA Manurhin MR73 Match revolvers and in every case the quality was outstanding, however the latest production run is in a world of its own.

Remember we are talking about the MR73 Match revolver not a gendarme special or any other model.

I also don't see the relevance of your French ancestry, however there is no possibility that your description could match that of a MR73 MATCH.

Well mister before you trash my relevancy let's see what I have done in my life
4 years as a GIGN in France using you guessed it the old manurhin and then last year buying one from the lousy chapuis and I CAN TELL YOU that the manurhin they are making is no where the quality it used to be
This is my opinion off the MR73 match in 32 SW that I have sold
You do what you want with this information but it is my French knowledge of the gun that speaks here, if you got better insight than shooting at target with a gun that is not what it should be I would love to hear about it but to tell me that I am wrong with only the "they have great 2017 gun" is pretty pathetic

Wow, you must be like a national hero in France then?

Did you ever get attacked by ISSF targets?

You have been told Kermit as I mentioned having owned an original MR73 in both .32 and .38 as well as a Chapius manufactured MR73 match in .32 and finally I own a 2017 MR73 match so to say that I have told you that you are wrong with "they have a great 2017 gun is pretty pathetic" is as irrelevant as your first post.

The New Zealand brothers that contribute to this forum will be aware of the GIGN Rainbow Warrior incident, and in my opinion unless GIGN translates to having a degree in Manufacturing and Quality assessment I fail to see the association here as well.

Now I understand why your government will not allow its citizens to own anything more than a water pistol!

On the contrary, the largest gunshop in the world is in Christchurch New Zealand and there, with a special endorsement on your licence, you can even own full-auto firearms. These sell for prices US shooters can only dream and weep about - generally 1/4 or 1/5 of what they would sell for in the States.

Guncity is quite pricey. Better to deal with Auctions and people directly. They are often as much as twice market price. Sometimes more!

Thanks. That was great stuff and very well produced. It also brings to my mind the sad fact that the ISSF sticks y'all with strictly short-range revolvers. The video included silhouette shooting, making all this talk of revolver quality seem incomplete without a mention of Picra or Freedom Arms. My heart goes out to you. :)

Has anyone slugged the barrel of an MR73 in .32 to determine bore/groove diameters?

hello JBshooter,
The French shooters say that .314 is a good size for the .32 when it's .355 for the .38 match because the barrel was supposed to be able to fire the French military ammo that is the 9 mm Lüger.
I did some tests with my MR .32 match fitted on a Ransom Rest a few months ago. I checked both .313 and .314 H&N wadcutter HB bullets and they gave the same results in target. I can send you pictures of the test targets if you wish.
Obviously, the powder I use is French made BA10. The weight of the powder charge is .092 grams.
Greetings.
Jacques
