Gun Bash Information and Answers to Frequently Asked Question


A. The large portion of the yellow ticket with the number at the bottom is needed to get into the event and/or to claim any prize won.

B. Every ticket has an equal chance of winning every prize. It is possible a ticket will win more than one prize.

C. You do not need to be present to win.

D. Numbers for prizes will be chosen by the pop-up balls (the type typically used in bingo and lotteries). The grand prize, the OCC chopper, will be chosen using the ticket stubs.

E. We ask if you plan to attend simply to get an idea for food. You are not obligated if you say yes and you may still come if you say no (you will need your ticket).

F. Winning numbers will be posted on www.wvurifle.com.

G. You may charge your purchase. The charge will be run through Colonial Arms’ account and will be for $52 to cover the surcharge charged by the bank and postage.

H. If you wish to mail a check for $50 and send a stamped return envelope (business size) we will complete the ticket stub and mail the ticket. We need name, address, e-mail, phone and whether you plan to attend. Checks should be made to “WV Rifle Club Fund”. Mail to WVU Rifle Club at P.O. Box 6444, Morgantown, WV 26505.

I. Tickets may be purchased at any of the sponsor locations except BB&T, Ultra Light Arms and OCC.

J. The bash will be July 31 at the White Horse Education Center. That’s in Barbour County off Rt. 20 between !-79 and Buchannon. It is a shooting range. The ticket has directions and a phone number.

K. Guest tickets are $20.

L. The Gun Bash is being held by Baxter VFD and Colonial Arms for the benefit of the WVU Rifle Club. The WVU Rifle Club will net a minimum of $200,000 if all tickets are sold. Additional monies will go to the team depending on expenses and on-site sales.

M. Most of the prizes will be purchased (including the Orange County Chopper).

N. The OCC bike has not yet been built. Likewise the final design has not been submitted by OCC to WVU trademark and licensing office (as of 3/31/04).

O. The theme of the bike will be WV Rifle. Many ideas that have been put forth for the bike include blue and gold paint, WVU logos, round rearview mirrors with crosshairs, clutch grips that are shaped like old-time rifle levers, etc

P. OCC has agreed to bring a trailer and sell OCC merchandise (t-shirts, hats, etc.). OCC has not decided who will be attending. While there is talk someone from the show will attend, it will not be one of the big names unless the decision is made to pay their appearance fee.

R. If you want to help the team and aren’t interested in a gun bash ticket send donations (checks payable to the “WVU Rifle Club”) to P.O. Box 6444, Morgantown, WV 26506-6444, attention Ron Justice.

S. The rifle club is in the process of applying for tax exempt status. Donations may also be made payable to “Mountaineer Athletic Club,” and sent to the WVU Rifle Team, P.O. Box 0877, Morgantown, WV 26507-0877. Be sure “rifle team” is noted on the check. These donations are tax deductible.

T. Donations toward the rifle endowment may be made payable to the Athletic Endowment Fund, c/o MAC and earmarked for rifle.
