22ammo testing at 100yds

Post by redschietti »

In the past ive always tested at 50 and assumed/hoped it shot well at 100. This go im testing at 100 first. Do i need to retest at 50 before buying? Im sure when we have a case it will be shot a lot at 50 but its too late then. Thanks

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

One of the nice things about being out here in the west is that the Lapua test facility is only a few hours drive (well ... 6).
They test both distances at once using the Meyton traps, so the bullet touches nothing as it sails thru the trap. In one shot you do both distances.

Quite a few out here that test Lapua have one lot/brand for one distance and another for the other distance

You can ship your gun or action out to them and they test pretty quickly.
