gun counts from the Athens World Cup

Post by pilkguns »

Code: Select all

        APMen APWomen FP Total
Morini 36 21 33 90
Steyr 39 29 -- 68
TOZ -- -- 29 29
Walther 9 9 -- 18
FWB 5 9 -- 14
Pardini 3 4 1 8
Hämmerli -- 1 5 6
Anschütz 1 2 -- 3
Benelli 3 -- -- 3
MU -- -- 2 2
SAM 1 -- -- 1
MG -- 1 -- 1
Total 97 76 70
to analyze these numbers, Steyr is still the #1 Air pistol worldwide, as it has been for almost 15 years now. Talk about dominance of a sport.

Morini is in #2 position for Air Pistol, a position it has held for the last 5 or 6 years and really pushing Steyr hard. What's really interesting to me is Morini's Free pistol breaking to first place over the Toz, this has been slowly coming on the last few years, something that will no doubt continue to grow given the reliability of the system and the superb trigger of the Morini.

Walther has moved into 3rd place (though a distant third) over FWB, this is something new.

SAM and it's new cousin MG, still bring up last place, nothing new there.

Very good information, can you put zeros when nobody use that brand of gun in that event. Example Steyr 36-21-0=57, so we will know they didn't use any Steryr for FP.

My question is in those Hammerli were they : 1 5 6 Those 5 are for FP or AP women.

It is because I am still shooting a Hammerli 150 and wanted to know if the top of the line shooters is someone still using it.

Gun counts from Athens World Cup

I would be interested to know how many of these air pistols and Free Pistols have electronic triggers.

Also, how many Air pistols had compressed air, and how many had CO2.?

Were any pistols rejected at gun check?

This was a very interesting breakdown of pistols.

Now we need to know what was the most popular ammo used at the World Cup!

In case Scott doesn't answer ... probably almost all of the Morini AP's, if not all of the Morini AP's had electronic triggers. The Morini 84E Free Pistol only comes with an electronic trigger ...

Probably almost all of the AP's were compressed air ...

yes, Mako is right with what he said. and yes, I should have added zeros or dashes, or something to keep them in columns, I was'nt sure what would happen after I hit the submit button.

I would guess that probably less than of the AP were CO2. just based on past numbers

Of course not!
*goes back to trying to break 550 in air rifle with a FWB 300-series rifle because equipment doesn't matter....*

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Mens AP --- Pardini?? - Steyr - Morini
Womens AP --- Morini - Steyr - Steyr?
FP --- Morini - Toz - Morini
