Greetings- we agree with Gwhite, damaged pellets do not a good competitor make. The change in tin count for RWS Basic and Hobby pellets clearly will lead to an increase in the damaged pellet count per tin, thereby increasing the effective cost per pellet well beyond the manufacturer’s increase, during actual usage. One wonders, will RWS also change their professional line, Meisterkugeln, and competition line, R-10, pellets to this packaging method?

Overall, the recent increase in RWS Basic pellet and Hobby pellet costs, due to the switch to 300 count tins, will amount to $80 per 50,000 pellets; respectively (in the States.) Most people never buy in this quantity and will never notice the additional cost. RWS is counting on that, we are certain.

However, those who do buy at this level are most likely purchasing significantly more than 50,000 pellets- leading to yet another drain on the lean budgets available for pistol and/or rifle programs.

Our shooters all switched to JSB pellets just over a year ago and are very happy. Let’s hope JSB doesn’t start down the same path as RWS.

Respectfully,
