Post subject:  I is blind in one eye or is I not...

Hello fellow sufferers. I was watching 10m air pistol on YouTube and most of the Korean and Chinese shooters don’t seem to use a blinder to cover the non shooting eye. They also look to have normal glasses on but I sure the glasses are very carefully made for shooting.
Seems to me it would be better to shoot without a blinder as it will interfere with balance, peripheral vision and our normal vision much less. As long as you are right hand/right eyed of course or vice versa.
I used to shoot with black side blinders on but stopped using them as my balance felt better with them off, so was wondering is the same could be said to shoot with no blinder over the non shooting eye. Standing on one leg and shutting one eye affects balance quickly, so having them both open should be an advantage.
I will give it a go, but wondered if anybody else had tried it, or know why most of the Asian shooters don’t use them?

Good thing as they are no longer legal.

That wasn't the problem they were discussing!

Thanks William, for the record I know side blinders are banned. I am discussing the non shooting eye blinder.

That's funny; it sounded that way to me.

BTW I'm not sending a pic of my glasses.

I have lenses in front of both eyes, and have previously tried with a blinder for the non shooting eye and without.

I shoot better with a blinder cause my non shooting eye is dominant, but do not get as good balance or overall feeling with it. I found a good compromise though..

I use a semi transparent furniture......thingy. made of clear plastic, adhesive on one side, about 6-7mm in width. Blurs the target and leaves the rest of the range/peripheral clear.

I will have a go with a thinner one as well as you suggest, I use just the normal 30mm wide one, also transparent.

For those who agree with the above; a strap of matte cellophane tape on the inside of the lens on your non-shooting eye is FREE.

You want to shoot with translucent blinders, not opaque.

Your pupils will expand/constrict based on available light, but we have not evolved the ability to have them react independently, so if one eye sees light and the other sees dark, they will both go to a size somewhere between. So to avoid overloading your shooting eye, let the non-shooting eye see brightness, just not an image.

Easiest and cheapest is a small piece of scotch tape on the lens.
