Any experience with importing from Krale (Netherlands)

Hi all,

I was looking for a vendor that sells the MatchGuns MGH1 and found Krale Schietsport. The first thing I noticed was that the prices seemed to be significantly lower than I was expecting, and I saw that the rest of the air pistols they had were listed for much lower than what they sell for here in the US (with the conversion from Euro to USD, whether or not you include the VAT). Does anyone have experience importing to the US from them (or any other international vendor)? It seems like even with shipping and import duties it would be hundreds of dollars cheaper for most of the models than buying in the US. Am I missing anything in particular with this (unexpected costs)? The shipping times might be enough of a hassle not to order from them, but with prices like this it seems like it could be a good fit for some people who are not in a rush.

You should not have problem ordering from them.

I had ordered my stuff from www.stopper.de before.

With a weak Euro 1= $1.13, with VAT deduction, even after paying shipping and wire transfer bank surcharge, what you see listed in euro is what you will end up paying in dollars now. So if it is listed 1000 Euro, after VAT deduction, shipping addition, bank surcharge addition, you will end up paying $1000.

It is a good deal to order from Europe right now.

I expect the Euro to take a swift dive in light of this:

Bit worrying, but cheap gear is nice I suppose.

I suggest you contact Holme in Erding, close to Munich......the lowest price ever
for any pistol, and also for MGH1

I had a look at Krale....
Obviously the price I quoted is for MGH1 ( the hybrid version with both electronic and mechanical)

I think the mechanical mg1 is sold for less than 800euros!

I suppose he hardly makes a profit, but is a very serious and old established shop in Germany.

I am interested in a Pardini K12 so emailed http://www.schiesssport-buinger.de/shoo ... re-pistols
and they replied saying they could not ship to USA.

Please keep us posted as I'd like to see about taking advantage of the favorable exchange rates.

Im from the netherlands.
Krale is a very well known and respectable gunshop.
Also importer from several match brands.
As long as its airguns, you wont have any trouble importing them. Not from the dutch side anyway.
FA is a whole different story.

Of the 13 or so European webstores I emailed only WHD.nl and krale-schietsport.nl would ship to the USA with reasonable shipping cost (stopper.de would ship to US but shipping cost over $200). Western Marksman of Canada would also ship to US.

Also, I called an import specialist in San Francisco (415-782-9370) and was told that import of air pistol is duty free.

Did you ask Karlslunde sport in Denmark?
Not bad price for K12.. http://www.karlslundesport.dk/default.a ... u&Item=139
Ordered mine from them about a year ago as it was the best price I found then.

I did email karlslundesport but got no reply. I'll try again.
Wow, 1346 euros, that must be excluding VAT?

I paid 1413€ a year ago incl. shipping and vat.

Ordered feb. 11th 2014 and got a pistol with two 2014 cylinders about a week later.
Of course, I verified from the seller that the pistol I´m buying is of the latest version, has right size grip and fresh cylinders.
One Finnish store tried to sell me a K12 with almost 1 year old cylinders and too small grip for 1970€...

Well,

I placed an order with them on Saturday since I had some pretty quick e-mail communication with them last week. The wire transfer cleared this morning and a UPS label was generated, so seems like pretty quick turn-around so far.

Damn those prices seem almost reasonable.

Like the steyr lp10 cost the same as the walther lp400. Here its a $300 difference.

An my order arrived last night. I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the timeline on this whole thing. The longest wait was for the wire transfer to clear, but then the order shipped Wednesday morning and got here Friday night, so ~2 days to ship from the Netherlands to the east coast of the US.

The package arrived pretty well protected, rather than using a standard box the whole thing order (an air pistol and two packs of targets) was bascially wrapped in cardboard in a very snug manner, at least two layers thick on all sides. It made for a very dense little package with no room for anything to move around (unlike so many orders from Amazon where things are flying around inside huge "standard" size boxes).

For anyone interested in the costs/fees, I processed the wire through my bank (for convenience) and so I didn't get the best exchange rate possible, but I didn't think it was unreasonable. The bank charged ~$35 for processing the wire, there was ~$30 brokerage due on delivery, and the shipping was ~$60, so some of those costs do add up, but I was still quite pleased with the deal I got. If you were looking to order an LP400 or something the price might not make it worth it, but things like the Steyrs and Match Guns pistols seem to be pretty cost effective.

Plus one for Krale. Took my bank 3 attempts to figure out how and where to send the wire transfer and Krale was helpful in responding to emails in getting the wire done. Money wire showed up the day the retail shop is closed and posted the same day. Two days later on my doorstep in the middle of the US. Quite impressive service and received product exactly as advertised.

Gerrit has been a great help. I don't know whether it is ok for him to export firearms, but air guns have no problems. I highly recommend him. As for the price, it is on par with everyone in Europe. After paying customs, you will end up only a slight bit cheaper than buying here.

Who's Gerrit? Paying customs? So far everyone has been saying you don't pay any custom duties if you import an air gun into the US for personal use.
