I tested that revolver last summer and liked the trigger, so I started planning a modification to my 14-2.

I didn´t dare to try this with the original trigger, so bought another one - just in case mod does not work.

Dremeling, filing, silver soldering and drilling. Ready for test.
I need to find a stronger spring and -maybe- make less curved trigger blade.

Are those grips Nil's or some other brand? My 14 needs a new handle and I'm on the fence between Nil and Fung grips
I have a set of Karl Nill's grip in my target S & W, but they only make them for ROUND BUTT FRAMES, which fortunately mine is.

Maybe you should ask Nill if they can carve them for square butts, or maybe go for it as is and file your frame...........................
Nill catalogs grips for S&W with square or round butt frames but they only show a left side profile picture of them. I was trying to figure out what the thumb shelf looks like and how big the horn is. I’d be shooting the pistol mainly in Bulls eye shooting events and I’m not sure I could thumb the hammer with a Nill ISSF grip.
Surely not with the shooting hand's thumb, unles you completely break up your gripping.

By the way, you're right. Back when I bought mine, square frames weren't an option; I've just checked their webpage and see they're now available.

I shoot ISSF CF and it's allowed to cock the hammer with the other hand, provided you shoot one-handed unsopported, I don't know what the BE rules are on this precise point.

Here's a caption of what the grip looks like from the side:

Thanks!
Slow fire I could cock with the off hand, but timed and rapid I think I’d have to shoot double action rather than keep changing grip.

I made that grip. Could be better, but will do for now.

Bowler used to make K-frame grips. Here are pictures of Bowler and Nill grips on my 14-5.

I used to shoot Centre Fire Pistol with a Manurhin Match 32, and I would ALWAYS cock the hammer with my left hand. You have 7 seconds between shots in the rapid fire stage, so it's not a problem.
