Blinder for non-aimaing eye for scope shooting

Post by Paul »

When I shoot irons, I use Champion shooting glasses with a very narrow blinder. I can easily watch the wind flags with these glasses.

What do you any use as a blinder when you shoot any sight with a scope ? I have a Champion Shooters Supply polyurethane blinder ( http://www.championshooters.com/images/ ... 00x100.jpg ) but it's not really convenient to watch the wind flags with my left eye.

Any suggestions ? Thanks !

They have a smoke colored option that works well.

Could you not tape a piece of translucent plastic onto the scope eyepiece, or tuck a piece under a headband?

Yep, that's what I do...translucent. ...think plastic milk container....under a headband.

10.9 has clip on blinders made for headbands. If used on hat brim, it is a little futher from eye (about 1/2 way down brim). I like it at end of brim, so I actually cut the end of the blinder clip off, and epoxy it back on at other end of clip. This gives more distance between eye and blinder to better see flags with.

Or just make sure you have a point with a flag in your scope view

I just use the same glasses that I wear for shooting irons. If your scope is setup correctly for your position, you should have the scope eyepiece in pretty much the same place as your iron sight iris, and if you need a corrective lens for irons, you should probably also be using one for scope. That way, too, you can use that same blinder for irons.

I find I need to use two blinders since the hole is larger for scope.
