I have two of these Daisy "chinese copies" of the original El Gamo sight which at about £35 in the UK is cheap but suffers from some backlash and play in the aperture holder. They are used by Air Arms, Daisy, BSA and Weihrauch at least.
There was a post in this forum in 2005 concerning the disastrous move to China for manufacture. "Unusable" was one description.
Then in the US National Standard rules I found the following...
"Modifications may be made to the El Gamo-type sight to reduce the play or movement of the rear aperture holder."
As I believe the above Sporter rifle rules in the US mandates that you often have to use these original sights, has anyone come up with a good standard modification that they can recommend to take out the backlash?
