Airforce Edge

Post by targetceasefire »

Does anyone have any recent experience with the Edge? We are using Challengers for our Sporter shooters now, but want to add more rifles and was thinking about trying a couple of these - I know they are backordered for a while... The Crosmans are solid, these just look like they may be better adapted to some of my smaller framed shooters.
Thank you!

Never had an Edge in our group, but from what others have said it is a hit or miss whether you get one that will consistently shoot well. It's really a poor design in the way the action and barrel are supported.

A JROTC instructor once told me that "they are a good 8 ring rifle".

Stick w/ your Challengers if that is what you have now. If you are looking for used, I can really recommend the Daisy CO2 rifles as well.

Thank you very much, that's what I have been hearing - no real consistency. Our Challengers work really well, so we'll be sticking with them!

I have an edge and it is ok. My son only shot it for a year before moving to the Daisy X40 (T200). I think the T200 or Crosman are better for several reasons. The edge doesn't have a pressure gauge, it is on the lighter side which has it's drawbacks, and is harder to load and keep loaded. If you use cheap pellets and the kid raises the muzzle, they can fall out of the chamber. The only thing going for the edge is it has the best built sights in the sporter class.

The T200 is smaller than the Crosman and may be better suited for the smaller framed kids.

Thank you to both for your replies. After research and taking your comments, we (actually, a very generous member)
decided to add a couple of T200's to supplement our Crosman's.
