Starting/running matches. Sporter rifle for Jr's

Post by 2ridgebacks »

As the title says. I know nothing. We have started a youth program and want to encourage competition as well as help foster the local youth competitive shooters. We want to focus on sporter rifle and keep it Jr friendly. Do we want NRA approved? Our own format? Standing only? I'd really like to hear what any of you are doing that has worked out and grown programs.

A good place to start is with the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) air rifle page, and especially the National 3 Position Rules (found here http://thecmp.org/air/national-standard ... fle-rules/).

Contact your State Rifle and Pistol Association (CMP-affiliated) to meet others locally who are running junior programs.
