need help!! Marlin 2000 with anschutz sights

Post by ar15rick »

I recently purchased a marlin 2000 for daughter to shoot at local 4H matches. I really want to add some anschutz sights but i dont know what adapter to buy so i can mount the sights. Does anyone know what adapter to get and where i can get it? Thanks for all your help.

I don't know what you'd do for the rear sight, but champions choice has a base that allows you to mount an anschutz front sight to a standard base. The catalog number is 001078.

The Marlin is grooved for a scope isn't it?

There isn't much difference between a 3/8" scope rail and an 11mm Anschutz sight rail. The Anschutz rear sight will clamp in the groove just fine. And should have plenty of windage adjustment to make up for the difference in size.

You will probably need a taller front sight however.

Never mind,

I just pulled a Marlin 2000 out. The Anschutz sights will fit the 3/8" dovetail but to mount them out of the way of the bolt handle you will have to put them too far forward.

I don't see how it will work without machining a custom base.

Better off in the long run to just upgrade the whole rifle now.
