NCAA "Equivalents" change?

Post by jhmartin »

I heard last week that NCAA has removed the equivalents of 3.6 scholarships on shooting to whatever the school deems fit and can afford ... for all sports?

Collegiate coaches ... is this correct?
If so - one more "BIG WIN" for the HAVES and a big loss for the have nots.
Seems to me that NCAA should just close it's doors and quickly fade away.

I do not think it has happened yet, but may be coming.

Thanks for the article .... but it gained no points for the NCAA from me.
And they were already below zero before I read this.
NCAA has botched the whole collegiate athletics issue/problem that it (IMO) no longer a viable organization.
Scrap it and move on - let the conferences make the rules.

The path NCAA is on has made women's sports almost irrelevant. And that pains me to no end as I have a daughter that was a D1 athlete and is a D1 coach. Rifle is in a different position than swimming, but there is now a great potential to erode the women athletes opportunities, not only in rifle, but all of women's collegiate sports.

It's sad the the never ending greed of the NCAA has caused all this. It's not the only factor, but they could have fixed it years ago but just kept turning the money crank.

Oh yeah, </rant off>
