Hi, new guy here.
I've seen some mention that biathalon people like to disable/remove the safeties on their rifles.
I assume this is so they don't get engaged by accident during a race?
Looking at the 1827 pictures I can't even seem to see a manual safety on the gun.

5 shots per mag, 5 targets per shooting stage.
Thus, you are never skiing with a live round in the chamber.
No need for a safety...

Re: Safety question
So you are telling me definitively that there is no manual safety present on an 1827.
Re: Safety question
No, I think the 1827 does come with a safety from the factory. A friend has one with a manual safety.
I was just saying in general that's why people might remove them.

The 1827F has a saftey on the left side of the action just above the stock. It may be hard to see in photographs.mike@nds wrote:So you are telling me definitively that there is no manual safety present on an 1827.
