New IPC Rules

Post by Thomas Monto »

Please be reminded that the new version of the IPC Shooting Technical Rules and Regulations, published in April 2015 on the IPC Shooting website (http://www.ipc-shooting.org/Rules-and-R ... ical-Rules), will be in full force from 01 June 2015.

Ahead of the 2015 IPC Shooting World Cups with Direct Quota Allocation, please ensure your teams are fully aware and prepared for the new Rules.

Please note 2 particular rule changes that need the URGENT attention of all NPCs:

· ATHLETE EPILEPSY DECLARATION (rule 8.2)

ALL athletes must complete the Athlete Epilepsy Declaration Form (attached) which must be uploaded to every athlete’s SDMS profile. For any athletes competing in the upcoming 2015 World Cups, you must ensure that the Declaration Form is uploaded to each athlete’s SDMS profile (there is an upload field in the Classification Documents page of the athlete’s profile called ‘SH Athlete Epilepsy Declaration’) no later than 3 weeks before the competition.

· PACEMAKERS (rule 8.3)

Any athlete that uses a pacemaker is must submit a medical file to the IPC Medical Committee (medical@paralympic.org) urgently (detailing the pathology and technical details of the device implemented). The IPC Medical Committee shall determine whether the device is approved. Failure to notify IPC Shooting of the use of a pacemaker will result in automatic disqualification of the athlete and any results obtained in competition where a pacemaker was used.

Note: IPC Rules can be found on their website
