World Cup - Thailand

Post by Thomas Monto »

With John Joss’ (USAMU) solid 4th place finish in the R6 (50m Prone Mixed) event, and McKenna Dahl’s Gold medal in the FTR2 event, the US Para Team wrapped up the IPC World Cup season for 2013 in Bangkok, THA.

The change in the Team this year has been dramatic. We’ve turned the page from having a couple of competitive shooters to having contenders in almost every event. Newcomers John Joss, McKenna Dahl and Mike Tagliapietra all won medals as did our returning Pistol specialist Eric Hollen. Tammy Delano made a final in GBR as well. Very strong performances from Jazmin Almlie and Nick Beach this year show that we have even more athletes ready to make their marks on the world stage. Several new shooters at the AMU should be ready to go for next year. Danielle Fong has returned after a year of to focus on school

2014 promises a much fuller schedule of World Cups as well as the quadrennial IPC World Shooting Championships in Suhl, GER. More funding support is desperately needed to give our larger, more competitive US Team the opportunities they have earned.
