WALTHER SSP RED DOT INSTALATION

Post by magicshot »

I PURCHASED WALTHER SSP FROM EARL REPAIR
ALSO I PURCHASED RED DOT MOUNT FROM THEM
THIS MOUNT DOES NOT STAY FOR LONG TIME USUALLY AFTER 80-100 ROUNDS IT GOING UP EVEN WITH SCREW IN LOCK-TIDE
I FOUND OUT THAT DESIGN WRONG AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT RED DOT MOUNT WILL WORK WHEN IT WAS REPLACE REAR SIGHT
IS ANYBODY HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH RED DOT MOUNT ?

I've been wanting to try one, so I am interested to hear how this turns out. Can you post a picture?

I'm still in process to modifications of red dot mount and hope that bring good result
But I can say that design of mount that replace rear sight is not working for long time and not reliable
You better go for another mount which goes under slide from front.
The pistol itself very handy, light eat any ammo which very important .
I have SW41, Volquartsen Miii, Hi Standard non of them come even close to SSP
Of course it did not make me better shooter but much more comfortable to shoot
Mersedes does not make you better driver but you more comfortable in it

Have you seen this one?

http://www.champchoice.com/store/main.a ... item=CC75S

I can't quite tell how it attaches, but it appears to replace the rear sight without going under the slide. I don't like the mounts that go under the slide due to the added weight.

Thanks,

Joel

That what I have. The weight of this part plus weight of red dot at least 5 times more then rear sight but it use the same screw M4 which not enough for keep this replacement in place and that the problem. After 100-160 shots whole that start shaking and move up. This is very bad engineering and you have to know that before you buy pistol for $2,400 plus optional crap.....

The one I got from Champion's Choice works well. It's rearward more than I would like, but it's the only possibility for me.
