Revolver Stock Blanks?

Post by solomon grundy »

Does anyone know of a supplier of DIY revolver stocks, or stock blanks w/ pre-cut inletting? There are a few companies that provide pre-cut rifle stocks, but I haven't found anything similar for revolver stocks.

I'm having a heck of a time finding comfortable symmetrical ( DR legal ) grips for one of my Colts and so am considering carving my own.

DIY all the way. Cut a pair of flat hardwood slabs and shape to the frame. The thickness would depend on the grip screw you have. Build layers of soft wood on top and carve to the design you want. To build a trial area, hotglue pieces of leather. Once you have the ugliest grip that works, use it and your experience for an all hardwood model.

That's a better idea than the approach that I'd had in mind - is that how laminated grips are constructed?
