: Bill Politt was finally able to track down a photograph of the Fiochi ST 2000 Standard pistol ...
Dear Mako,
This is not new, I saw one of the catalogue in Fiocchi factory about five years ago (When Mr.Bruno Cisotti was the sales manager, now Mr.Silvano Conti have been acting intl. sales manager...... both are friends of mine). As I told you guys (if no modifications are made or even some modifications were made...it is same designer as Mo..ni....Bene....li).
Do not full arround with it if you want to shoot ISSF category.......not the best std pistol!!! if you don't believe me ask Erik Bul......for his opinion.

Dear Rob,
My personal opinion I think Hammerli's std having many good points starting from 208, 280 til SP20, but these guns need good tuning to achive good results. For example not so many people know how to do the servicing of the trigger unit to maximize the trigger performance of the 289 and the SP20. This needs special technician like Joseph or Roger (Joseph had been working with Hammerli for very long time. Roger was a student of Joseph, and both were former mechanics of Hammerli) to make it right!! Another thing for the SP20 is: it has good concept design, but not all the shooters know how to perfect the recoil absorbing system with the ammo they are using. Also, Hi-grip (whatever they name it) actually is a low cost grip (whatsoever) and the bad point is: it is difficult for beginner or novice or less experience shooters to adjust themself to handle the gun. In other word its grip is the most difficult to adjust to the shooter hands!! Pardini has this point also but the grip is less difficult to alter to suit the shooter's hand because it is simply made of wood and its mechanism is easier for maintenance. Morini best point is always best handling because the company is making the best ISSF grip in the world!! But I do not like the design of the pistol. FWB is OK, but it is just a model that get from a designer outside the company (please correct me if I am wrong), no strong point no long history development like Hammerli! This model is just to get a piece of market share and they are doing so. FWB is very consistant in good servicing! FAS and Unique are not to mention because we cannot rely on the sevice parts sometime I ordered from Mr.Mencalleli and it took me one year to get the parts another company might have been closed out. As I know, the Italian had sold his company a few years ago and nothing as I know for continuous development of the pistols. Walther is good solid gun but after long long history of the gun, only slight face lift!! They are concentrating on the products like the handgun that make most money (please correct me if I am wrong). If I keep on saying, it will be more and more points. You have to pick one to suit your need. If you want to go to the F1 take the Hammerli, but you will need proper maintenance and a good grip maker and a good coach and.... to be on top.
If you need specific advise please let me know if I can help, and if I need correction please let me know. I want to know the new things also.
