Re: Wow
Actually the NRA wrecking of smallbore started when they went back to the old target from the 50m international target under HQ Moody. Then changed prone course of fire.

Re: Kowa TSN-1 a good spotting scope for smallbore outdoor prone?
We have a couple of tsn-1 kowa scopes. I wouldn’t trade one for any celestron. The kowas are very clear. The long eye relief eye pieces that kowa makes are very nice and I think somewhat unique. Also, the kowa scopes are very high quality mechanically.

Re: Ballistic curtain for .22 lr?
Not exactly a curtain but Some of the collegiate teams are using a temporary wall made of plywood laminated with sheet metal. This is for use as a portable range. The sheet metal is minimal thickness to do the stopping. The plywood keeps it from splattering.

Re: Soda Stream cylinders
I’m not sure what a soda stream bottle is. Never heard a co2 bottle called that. I have both a 20lb cylinder, used mostly with my mig welder and a 5lb bottle. Both of these I have used to fill my air pistols with. My current bottles don’t have syphon tubes so need to be turned upside down. The 20lb ...

Also, it seems to me that FWB does better supporting their older guns.

Re: FWB 601 question
I can relate. I have an Anschutz 2002 Superair which is a SSP rifle too. I did pretty much what you're doing. It works fine but I'm told that sometimes the valve assembly goes bad. Not sure what goes bad in there but it was replaced as a unit I understand. They are no longer available so I guess whe...

Re: FWB 601 question
Air guns have rubber seals. Over time these go bad. Generally speaking this is no problem because they can be replaced. What seems to limit an airgun's life is when the manufacturer quits supplying the specialty seals. Even the o rings they use in airguns are not necessarily just common o rings.

Extra sights are by no means must have's, not really even needs. Extra front apertures, riser blocks yes these. Not extra sights.

Re: Electronic vs. Manual/Mechanical Trigger
It’s hard to think of anything electronic that’s designed to last more than 5 years. I could go on about this but think of all the electronic stuff you have and think how much of it’s designed to last. Based on my experience in every area this is the weak part. Mechanical triggers on the hand on thi...

Re: Anschultz 2007
Adding some to what Tim said. I assume you’re looking for a smallbore rifle? Sometimes you can get a steal of a deal on standard rifles because they’re not very popular. You can shoot it a while and then upgrade the stock to the latest. Can be a good path.

Re: Anschutz 2002 Cylinder
Well, It's been 15 years or so since i had an in date cylinder. Doesn't worry me too much.
As far as buying something from Bulgaria- I did buy an anschutz trigger guard from there. Not sure if it's the same outfit. I probably wouldn't buy a tractor or car from them.

I agree with rgibson. I think with dry fire the focus tends to be more on the process and not the score.
I disagree with rgibson on the range in the barn- build it too. I have a range in my shop. Very nice.

Re: Sexism
Personally I really like that in shooting practically speaking men and women can compete equally. But, why does everything need to be viewed through the lens of if it’s sexist or not as it is. Another perspective is that as it is there are many more shooting events than there would otherwise be. May...

Re: Anschutz 54 trigger
Butch: It depends on the trigger. The older triggers pull weight is set but two things - a spring and a cam. To get that low you'll need a different cam. They are just a little sheet metal piece that you can make with a bandsaw and a file.

Because it’s all so tight near the middle it needs to be scored with an outside scoring gauge.
