Re: Walther LP3 question

I shot with an LP2 in the 70's - pretty much the same gun. I never saw a .22 version of either the LP2 or the LP3 mentioned anywhere. With the FWB 65, they were the top match pistols of the time, and were not cheap, so it's hard to see what market there might have been for a .22 version. Given the s...

Perhaps the surprise is because the shooter has been so busy concentrating on the sights that he has forgotten to trip over his own feet getting the shot away. David's point about not really being surprised when the shot breaks at about the time you trained for is good, but I'm not sure real matches...

Hammerli Major Financial Problems?/ Relocation?

Is there any truth in the rumour that Hammerli have been bought by Umarex, and that the factory at Lenzburg has been stripped of its production machinery, which is said to have been shipped to Germany? Umarex now own Walther. They make the CO2 bulb powered replicas that are so popular in the magazin...

If you are doing a lot of weights and quite a lot of shooting, you might just be suffering from tendonitis, also known as tennis elbow or shooter's elbow. This is not always particularly painful, especially if you are used to some aches and pains from the weight training. It can give you sudden wobb...

Without changing your grip, bend your elbow and bring it down, so you can look down on the pistol from above. 3. Look at the top of your wrist: you will see two tendons which have ri...

Be careful building up the front sight; the ISSF Rules stipulate a 40mm (I think) dimension for the distance between the top of the front sight and the bottom surface of the barrel (including any barrel weights, etc). You may have to shave metal off the top of the rear sight instead. I had just this...

As Davis Levene says, the early Britarms needed a lot of tuning to keep them working. Alan Westlake sorted out the engineering so the reliability problems disappeared. If you want to shoot it rather than just display it, it would be worth getting in touch with him. The Britarms were usually set up t...
