Re: Dillon 550/650 powder measure

Get a micrometer powder bar. Worth it's weight in gold in time saved setting up. Also allows on the fly fine adjustment. I can easily maintain a +/- 0.05 gr throw throughout a loading session with it.

Re: Slugging Pardini .32 ACP barrel?

I'm surprised Chris didn't mention it, but just holding the slug in your hot little hand will change the dimensions. Just tack that onto your "WAG". CTE of lead is 15.1 x 10^-6 in/(in F), so a 10 degree change in temp for a 0.314" slug will change the diameter by 0.00004". Given...

Re: Slugging Pardini .32 ACP barrel?

Some things to keep in mind: -The barrels are almost certainly not round to 0.0001" tolerance. -Measuring accurately with a mic to 0.0001" is very challenging, especially when measuring something round and soft like a lead slug. It requires good, well practiced technique and a very good q...

Re: How to clean a compensator

Remember, when you clean leading with vinegar and peroxide you make lead acetate. This is extremely toxic, much more toxic than the lead itself. It should be disposed of as hazardous waste. Most cities in the US have toxic waste disposal sites where you can take old paint and other chemicals for pro...

Re: How much does shooting matter to a school like MIT?

I was sort of in your position in 1993. I was a junior shooter with the Cherry Creek Junior Rifle Club in Denver. I was applying to MIT, and at the time it was my top choice. I was an OK junior shooter (won my state smallbore championship one year and got an invitation to the JORC), but was a better...

I have reviewed most of the threads related to the .32 ACP & Pardini HP... I appreciate all the info on casting, and I'm sure I will cast down the road. However, the outdoor season is upon us...I have HORNADY BULLETS .32CAL 60GR XTP-HP 32010 and a little over 500 .32 ACP Factory Hornady XTP… I ...

Re: 32ACP vs 32 S&W Long for centerfire

All, I've been having good results using the Accurate Molds 31-065H. It feeds much better and is showing the same accuracy as the 31-060H. However, still haven't reached the magic 1" groups some are getting, but recent offhand testing results trump the 45. I need to make a Ransom Rest insert o...

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

Just a comment about the bullet being in the barrel for a micro or nanosecond. Uhh, no. 710 fps = 8520 inches per second so for a 4" barrel, the bullet is in the barrel for 4"/8520 inches per second = 0.00047 seconds. This is 470 microseconds or 470,000 nanoseconds. In any case, not long, ...

Re: 32ACP vs 32 S&W Long for centerfire

i think they are equals and each require one major thing. The 32acp requires making your own lead bullets to be the 1" gun at 50 yards. The 32 S&W requires a Barrel with a faster twist to be accurate enough at 50 yards. The 32 acp development has been moving along and I believe commercial ...

Re: Starline to offer .32 ACP brass

I received the following notice from Starline. A response to Starline to their two questions would probably help accelerate their production of .32 ACP brass. We are designing tooling for .32 ACP as we speak, and hope to offer it sometime this year. What bullet diameter are most of the bullseye sho...

Re: Pardini 32 ACP

I clean mine after every 900 match, more or less. I've shot a 900+team with it several times without cleaning and it was fine, but never fired multiple matches without cleaning in between. It does get pretty dirty, but it doesn't seem any worse than other blowback centerfire guns. I've done no mods ...

Looks like Champion's Choice also has Eley Club and Eley Target in stock too for $8.00 and $6.50 a box, respectively. The case discount is 10%, so $720 and $585 for cases.

Re: Last 1000 rounds of .22..where to find more

Champion's choice has RWS Target Rifle in stock RIGHT NOW for $7.00 a box or $630 a case. I just took delivery of a case of SK Standard Plus from Champion Shooter's supply for $535 plus shipping. They got it in on Saturday the 10th, but it was all gone in a jiffy. I had put my email in the "not...

Re: Pardini HP .32 acp stovepipe

What's interesting is not everyone has this problem. My 32 ACP has worked perfectly without any messing about from the day I got it. Never had to mess with magazine lips, springs or anything. I did have a few stovepipes with my lead bullet load when I tried decreasing the charge from 2.0gr to 1.9gr ...

Re: New gear: Compensators for Pardini 22 & 32s

I tried them and noticed the same lead buildup. With the 32 ACP the lead buildup was severe. I had to use vinegar and hydrogen peroxide solution to clean it, which results in some very nasty waste products. The worst was cleaning the lead buildup off the barrel crown. I couldn't use the solution the...

Does anyone have a source for N310? I am running low, and would like to try to get some more rather than work up a load with a new powder. I understand the VV factory was recently sold, and production has temporarily stopped (at least I hope the stoppage is temporary).
