Re: Old eyes

Thanks everyone for the comments. John I am doing most if not all of your recommendations thank you. Martin you have hit it exactly I have been thinking along those lines for a while now! I have been seeing too good a fore sight and losing focus on the target, to a point where I have found myself al...

Old eyes

Looking for ideas and advice. I am now in my seventies and have had Cataract surgery on both eyes with some success. Currently driving without glasses and using glasses for closeup. I am using a lense attatched to the rearsight, something I have done for some years now. Lately I do not seem to be ab...

Trigger shoe

Has anyone had a loose trigger shoe on their KK500. The plastic shoe is just turning around on the verticle shaft.I haven't had a good look at it yet, hoping there is an easy fix!

Re: Shooting after premium lens replacement eye surgery?

Really interesting to hear how others are getting on after their surgery. I was in my early seventies when I had mine done. I was having trouble driving at night and glaring light was very distracting. My shooting was terrible (50M prone and 25yds indoor) I have standard lenses in both eyes now, my ...

Re: the dominance of Capapie shooting suits

Great comments Martin. I have only seen one in use and he is very happy with it. I am currently using a KT and totally agree with you, as you say the measurements didn't get translated very well! I am using one of the K10 mats and very happy with it. Great for my old bones.

Re: Returning to 3 Position: 20+ years later

I have heard that putting a lump of plasticene (sp) under the bridge of glasses is an easy way to lift the glasses. To lift the centre point of the lense when your head is tilting. My brother was very short sighted. He put a lense on the rifle and took out the lense of his glasses, left in the other ...

Re: bolt lube

Interesting. After shooting in my new 500, during my first 60 shot match the bolt literally siezed up. A wipe over of light oil and graphite grease (spareingly) on the recoil lugs it hasn't put a foot wrong.

KK500

I am purchasing a KK500, can anyone who has set one up give any general advice. I am liiking at torque on the bedding bolts, how do you find the suplied sight set? I will probably put a Centra adjustable fore sight on it.
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: ISSF 300m in Australia

Back in the eighties and nineties I shot in several 300 M matches in the South Pacific Regionals later called the Oceania. The Australian team, men and women was always very strong. May be worth trying to contact the Australian NRA or the Brisbane shooting complex as we shot there once or twice. A g...

Could you describe what the carbon ring looks like please. Is it a narrow ring or does it cover a length of the barrel? Curious and wondering if it might be part of my problem.

Cataract Surgery

I have finally decided to go ahead with surgery after dithering for some time. What I would like to know from Rifle shooters that have had surgery or have knowlege of. I understand you can have a choice in the lense replacement. For Prone shooting in particular would you go for a lense with an infin...

Re: 5 rounds magazine in small bore rifle?

Well put Tim I was thinking more of the "modern" 60 shot Matches. The history behind .22 shooting was very much from your "neck of the woods" In the USA the actions seemed to evolve into the single shot Remmington that I know. Did Winchester have a single shot as well? Here in NZ...

Re: 5 rounds magazine in small bore rifle?

The obvious reply to me is safety. Easy to make sure the breech is clear in a single shot. It is so much easier to Bed a single shot action well than one with all the bits hanging off the bottom! The single shot action is also so much stiffer without the cut out, relating to accuracy.

Re: Anschutz 1913 Ejectors

There would be two parts to the ejector. The ejector itself that drops theough the bottom of the action and the spring clip that holds it in on the outside of the action.

First try the original sight, one of them may be offset for that particular action. What I would try first not knowing either set up.
