Re: Shaners' front sight

I’ll try to get a photo but the gun got lost at customs soooo there’s that. The design is similar to the Race and removes the dark black outer edging to make it less stressful on the eye. He also uses a blue filter lens. Everything focused on relaxing the eye and enhancing the contrast from the bull...

I saw photos of William Shaner and thought his rifle was a bit chunky for a Pardini.
😂 it’s a specialized conversion of Walther lg400 e with a pardini stock. A bit of customization but seemed to work well!

Re: rear iris centering mirror

I coach a few kids who use them, personal preference I guess. One thing we did notice at WAG was when the lighting is high and behind (like in the gym) the reflection is really bright and distracting, but in the other ranges not a problem. Personally it seems you can setup a rifle correctly and have...

Re: JOs & New ISSF Rules

But now were going to hear about how looooong the smallbore days are and the competition takes forevvvveer. No more day and half of sb at JOs! Now if someone would just make the men and women qualifier scores equal that would show true gender equality. All kidding aside, this will be a good thing as...

Tough with the geographical spread - As a caveat these are people I know actively coaching advanced level shooting, unsure if they are taking new people or not, also I apologize in advance for forgetting someone (my brains tired today) Off the top of my head for virtual coaches: Lisette Grunwell Amy...

Re: USA Shooting Statement / USOC Resource Allocation for Pi

The irony here is that one of our shooters just won another World Cup medal in Rapid fire. It's not like US shooters aren't winning. Not to diminish the Gold Medal, anytime it is achieved it is a great accomplishment, just a point of clarification - It was a World Cup Final not a World Cup which ha...

Re: 2017-2018 USAS JOs now running by ISSF rules

How will they be determining the pairings for the mixed team match at winter air? Do we need to find a partner? Do they assign a partner? Also girls outnumber boys so what happens with the remainder? Lots of questions very few answers out there. The latest I heard is that they will be pairing up te...

Re: Target height for scatt -smallbore

Fort Benning doesn't change heights at all for the 3 Position matches. I believe what Joel was saying is that for 10m there are three height adjustments to start with to simulate the static single height 50 meter target. But be aware that not all static 50 meter targets are set at the exact same he...

Re: 2017-2018 USAS JOs now running by ISSF rules

I think 2-4 years ago, "not everyone can score decimal" was a pretty honest and accurate argument when trying to provide inclusion to the the masses for JO competition. With Orion making more of an impact on the market lately, it would be interesting to know which States holding USAS JO St...

Re: 2017-2018 USAS JOs now running by ISSF rules

Agreed on all sides - the conversion across is going to take some thought and it would be great to have them bounce it off a few of us who have been neck deep in it. I have lots of data (we set our levels here at the NTCSC on decimal and had to go through the brain damage) and always happy to help. ...

Let us know when you hear back on #1. It will be interesting to see how they determine the auto-qualifier scores for Air Rifle if they go decimal.

Rocky Mtn now branded Robert Mitchell, is typically the first full week in February and has both air rifle and smallbore. If you look at the past results/dates on the USAS website it should give you a good idea of general timeline and events. USAS just hasn't released the 2018 schedule yet which tak...

Re: Pardini GPR evo

Designed by Gold medalist Nicco Campriani the Pardini is a top performer rifle. The Evo is similar to the Top it just has some downgraded options such as a Mec 3 butt plate instead of Mec 4, the rear sight is a down grade from the spy sight on the Top, etc. I think this was an effort to insert them ...

Re: SHOOTING JACKET MODIFICATION/ALTERATION

Agreed with adding an extra edge just be aware of the 100mm distance for jacket overlap (edge of jacket to center button), and also the thickness. I'm sure Joel could jump in, but if I remember right, zip ties are not allowable because they are adjustable. Look at section 7.5.4.

Re: USAS Winter Air Gun Rule Update

I posted what is exactly stated on USAS. So I would take it for face value until a future correction is provided? There are many questions, like are they playing music during qualifier and finals, single optic lens, etc. The match notes state they are using the new ISSF rules, not that USAS has adop...

USAS Winter Air Gun Rule Update

Just in case you all haven't seen it yet, there was a rule update concerning the ISSF 2017: ISSF Rule Update Notes: This match will be using the newly published ISSF Rules. These rule changes affect various elements of the match including the Finals Procedure. 1) USAS is still evaluating the impact ...
