Where can I buy a good biathlon rifle?
Nowhere right now that I can see - unless you are left handed. Altius appears to have one rifle available.

I had come across Izhmash 7-4's (19'' barrels)
Those are good accurate adult sized biathlon rifles - I have one myself. They are very hard to find right now though.

Auburn Ski Club has training and biathlon matches - http://www.auburnskiclub.org/content/view/23/37/ Northstar has biathlon in the winter - http://www.northstarattahoe.com/info/ski/biathlon.asp As far as rifles, take a look at Altius Firearms and give the...

Including buying my Izhmash in California from MT Guns, paying sales tax, paying an FFL $ 100.00 and paying $ 25.00 shipping on the rifle, and all those parts upgrades, I paid a total for my rifle of around at most $ 2200.00. An Anschutz Fortner is $ 3195.00, plus shipping, plus $ 100 for an FFL. An...

How To Improve Your Izhmash Biathlon Rifle

How To Improve Your Izhmash Biathlon Rifle I think that the Izhmash Biathlon rifle is a great, accurate target rifle that can be improved dramatically with just a few accessories. This is what I have done to modify mine and my wife’s rifles - The first thing I did to our rifles was polish the bores ...

Well, accuracy in the Izhmash is supposed to fall off under 17 degrees F . Problem is, it's almost never that cold here in California. Which isn't really a problem as I don't think I'd like shooting in temps that low. I think only you guys in the center of the country can test or need worry about co...

They will be competitive for citizen racers competing in their local biathlon races though. And Clayton Mendel used one himself in the Elite race division at the 4th Annual Mammoth Biathlon. For those just having fun at this game it's another alternative that wasn't available before !

No way! I just bought a 7-3 (don't really have HUGE hands so I decided to go with a smaller stalk... starting to think that might have been a mistake but eh) from Mark at Altius. I didn't know I was buying a limited supply item! I bought a new sling, cuff, replaced the front aperture and added a ra...

I just got back from the 4th Annual Mammoth Biathlon. A great experience. Just wanted to mention that at all the biathlon races I have been to so far, you don't even need a rifle - it's provided along with match grade ammo. So just go race in some and if you like it, buy a rifle. If not, race and us...

The A31 and A50 are about the same size as a biathlon target ( if set up at 50 meters ).
